Dr. María Ana, is an Assistant Physician of the Retina service of the Association to Avoid Blindness in Mexico APEC, Hospital "Luis Sánchez Bulnes". She is certified by the Mexican Council of Ophthalmology and her clinical practice includes the medical-surgical management of vitreous and retinal disorders in children and adults. Her main area of interest is the treatment and research of retinopathy of prematurity, which today is the leading cause of blindness in children.
Member of more than 10 International Scientific Organizations, she advises publications in which she participates as a co-investigator, being presented in forums worldwide.
Recognized with academic awards among which stand out: the "Arturo Santos" Biennial Ophthalmology Award granted by the SMO, the "Rosenkranz" award from UNAM, the "Tyson" award from the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology, an honorary award in the American Association of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology Academic Merit Award.
