Rare Disease Day 2021
Rare Disease Day is on February 28, 2021!
Will you help us spread the word?
Rare Disease Day takes place on the last day of February each year. The main objective of Rare Disease Day is to raise awareness among the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients’ lives.
Building awareness of rare diseases is so important! One in 20 people will live with a rare disease at some point in their life. Despite this, there is no cure for the majority of rare diseases, including Coats’ Disease.
Rare Disease Day is a wonderful opportunity for us all to help spread awareness of Coats’ Disease, raise funds for research, and tell our stories to the world!
Here are a few ways YOU can make a difference on February 28:
1. Spread the word about your or your child’s Coats’ Disease diagnosis. Download the Coats’ Disease Photo template – Parent or Patient – and share across your social channels. Be sure to tag us in your posts!
2. Wear your Coats’ Disease Awareness bracelets, t-shirts, pins, or any other items that promote Coats’ Disease on February 28. Be sure to snap a photo for social media and tag us!
3. Help us raise funds to support our Coats’ kids! You can help fund research, promote early diagnosis of Coats’ Disease, and allow us to continue to expand our online resources for patients and families. Make a donation today and encourage friends and family to do the same!
4. Attend a virtual event:
United States (nearly 1/2 of the states have events listed. Is yours one?) – https://rarediseases.org/rare-disease-day/events/
Worldwide – https://rarediseaseday.org/events/world
5. Watch the official Rare Disease Day video below and share with others!
