SUZANNE CONNOLLY LEVERE, M.Ed.
SUZANNE CONNOLLY LEVERE has a personal connection to the foundation: her son James is living with and battling Coats’ Disease. After a career in Commercial Construction Project Management in San Francisco and in Hartford, Suzanne earned her masters in education. She taught school and then, while raising her two children, tutored, volunteered in schools through the United Way, and worked with education-focused nonprofits to support their missions. She and her family also provided respite foster care over several years to a number of children in the Connecticut foster care system.
Suzanne joined the Board of the Jack McGovern Coats’ Disease Foundation in 2013. Since then she has worked to establish the only Patient Registry in the world for Coats’ Disease patients and has also succeeded in leading the Foundation to a partnership with The Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins to found a Coats’ Disease Tissue Biobank which will support research going forward. She is pleased to be leading the Board as we move toward answers about this rare disease.
Suzanne is an avid skier and sailor. She lives in Connecticut with her husband Larry. Their son James is now at Boston College and is a walk-on student athlete with the BC football team. James’ older sister, Julia lives, works and skis in Colorado.
Suzanne graduated from Colby College in Maine and holds a masters in education from the University of Saint Joseph, West Hartford, CT.
